This was a fun week. We had four days at home. On Tuesday we learned about Mardi Gras. Daniel’s mom read us a book and brought a delicious King Cake. Ethan found the baby! Jacob said that he had a King Cake that night, and he found the baby, too! We are finishing our Jonathan London study this week. We read his book called The Waterfall. We also read our own books and answered lots of questions about the story. We learned ways to do math faster. We learned that we need to start with the bigger number when we add. We also practiced other math skills on runmoby.com. We also used PebbleGo.com to do research about animals. We got some new playground equipment. Yesterday was very hot and beautiful outside. This was a very, very, very fun week!

This was a great week! Today was the day we had our 100 Book Club celebration. Bunches of parents came to the celebration. Joelle was our cheerleader. She went on the stage to cheer. We saw the Cat in the Hat. We got to go on stage and get a certificate. Then we gave it to a big football player. His name was Michael Jenkins. He told us how important it is to read and make good grades. We learned about George Washington Carver. Today was Tailer’s birthday and Ethan’s grandfather’s birthday! It is almost Megan’s mom’s birthday. We compared –ed and –ing words. We also practiced ABC order. In math we measured things. We are about to have four days out of school! This week was a very, very good week!
I lost my tooth yesterday! This Thursday is Tailer’s birthday. Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. We read more Froggy books last week. We read Froggy Bakes A Cake. We also learned about –ed words. We had a severe weather drill. We had to tuck down and put our hands over our heads. I felt like a turtle in it’s shell. We made clay hearts and cards in art class. We also used our old crayons to make new ones with Mrs. Baker’s crayon maker. It was awesome! We learned about George Washington Carver. He liked to study plants. He made over 300 things with peanuts. He did this because he wanted the farmers to grow peanuts to improve the soil. We learned about fractions with groups. We had an awesome week!
This week we learned about fractions. Fractions are a pieces or parts of something. They have to be equal. We did fraction puzzles. We also ate equal pieces of a candy bar. We answered questions about the calendar. Mrs. Baker finally remembered the end of the verb song! We also worked on –ing words. We had book buddies today. We read Puddles by Jonathan London. He is our new author. My favorite is Froggy Gets Dressed. For science we are learning about shadows. We built a tower and shined a flashlight on it. Shadows do what you do. This week was Jacob’s birthday and Daniel’s half birthday. We switched our hooks, too. Our month changed to February. Tailer’s birthday is coming soon.
