We had a great time with character dress-up day yesterday. Thanks so much to the families who provided special snacks and a fun craft! I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend!

We began our Benjamin Franklin unit with an experiment, but it was much safer than the one he is famous for! We decided to ask people to say just one word that they think of when they think about Benjamin Franklin. We were right- almost every response was "kite"! Today we will be conducting Franklin's version of the kite experiment virtually with a program on the computer.
We studied wind today. We created wind vanes to discover the direction that the wind was blowing. We used skewers, straws, and a paper triangle. Hopefully those pointy sticks made it home without any incidents, but beware!
We also worked with pronouns. We traded nouns for pronouns and discovered why they are both useful in sentences. We had a lot of fun today. We celebrated Mrs. Baker's birthday. She was so happy! In the afternoon, we made it rain! We heated up a bowl of water. Then we put ice in another bowl. We held the bowl above the warm water, and waited. Finally water began to drop. It was all fun!
