This was the best week I ever had! We learned about magnets. They attract most kinds of metal. There’s a force in a magnet that is invisible and pulls the metal. We read a book about magnets and it taught us about the south pole and the north pole. We also watched a video about magnets, but we couldn’t hear the sound. We’re going to try again today. We read Dear Mr. Blueberry. Mr. Blueberry thought one of his students was crazy because she thought there was a whale in her pond. The student thinks there actually is one in her pond. She named it Arthur. She saw that her whale was gone, and at the end she saw it in the ocean. The book had persuasive letters in it. We read Mouse’s First Spring and It’s Spring. We are writing spring words on a chart. So far we have Easter egg, flower, sunny, rainy, grass, candy, wind, butterfly, and Easter Bunny. We wrote about our favorite special. We also wrote about a crazy animal. We found caterpillars. We kept them for one day, then we let them go. Mrs. Baker is ordering more so we can put them in our butterfly house. We’ll watch them change into butterflies. Then we’ll set them free. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring Break. Today is crazy hat day. This was the best week ever.

This week was a great week! It is almost Spring Break. The first day of spring was on the 20th. Our marble jar is almost full! On Monday, Daniel’s mom came to school and made us green milkshakes. They were so good! We have been learning about Theodore Roosevelt. We made museums on paper yesterday. We did that because Teddy Roosevelt made an animal museum when he was a little boy. We also learned that he broke his arm once, and he kept on riding his horse! He started National Parks and helped animals. We got to bring stuffed animals today! We learned that there might not be teddy bears without Teddy Roosevelt. Ethan brought a very special bear to show us. We read more books by Dr. Seuss. They were called The King’s Stilts, Bartholomew and the Oobleck, and In A People House. We learned about “un” words. We learned that if you put “un” before a word, it means “not”. In math, we learned how to add and subtract two-digit numbers. It was a very good week.
We had a great week! It was a different week because we had Early Release. We started a new author study. It was Dr. Seuss. We read a lot of his books including Cat In The Hat and The Lorax. On Friday it was his birthday. We didn’t have book buddies. Instead, we went on a field trip to the movie theater. We saw the Lorax. Jessica thinks the Lorax looks like a peanut! Joelle’s favorite character was the little bear named Pipsqueak. Trevor thought the movie was a little bit sad because the animals could no longer live where the Onceler cut the trees down. For Science we learned about sound. We learned how waves travel through water. We also learned about high and low pitch. It was a great week!
