We love school! We love learning math. We worked on problem solving and discovered that 2+2+2+2=8. The class also discovered that 2 boys plus 3 girls equals 10 socks! We counted by tens starting at any number. Today we worked with ten frames. Math centers are our favorite! In Social Studies, we made a fancy compass rose and labeled it with the cardinal directions. We learned more about earth. In writing, we practiced the writing process. We started writing fiction stories about mice. We practiced spelling -an and -ap words. Some books we read were Skippyjon Jones, Old Bear, Dewey, If You're Angry and You Know It, Sheila Rae the Brave, and many more. We also started a new chapter book called Frindle. We are excited about our long weekend! Some kids have been working on the 100 Book Club. We hope to blast off to space! We love our class!

It's fun at school! We just went outside. We jump rope a lot. The lights went out yesterday. Chase liked it when the lights went out. We played "Doggie, Doggie, where's your bone?" We love all our teachers- Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Hamilton, and Mrs. Baker. We all like our friends. We used the writing process: planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing. We read Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse. Then we made our own Lilly. We learned more about the author, Kevin Henkes. We love reading with Mrs. Baker. We learned about number lines. Did you know the earth has seven continents? Ours is North America. We loved our week!
We had the best week ever! We went outside every day. Owen's favorite outside area is the court. Max likes the blacktop best. William and Anderson liked the playground, and and Chase liked the track. Hayden likes when his friends help him tie his shoes. In math we learned to count to 100 by tens and ones. It is very helpful to group objects in tens. Pierson's favorite thing to learn about this week was landforms on earth. We wrote our own stories about landforms. Camden liked telling jokes at bus call. We read Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. We learned about the writing process and watched a video of Kevin Henkes planning, drafting, and revising his books. We also compared real and imaginary mice by watching the Chrysanthemum movie and a movie about a real mouse doing imaginary things. We earned two new literacy centers this week- the writing center and buddy reading. We are going to have Fun Friday this afternoon and go to treasure box. We love our teacher, Mrs. Baker.
We had the best week ever! We made new friends. In math we learned that 2-2=0. We counted by 100's and practiced tally marks. The calendar has taught us about dates. We also learned about picture and bar graphs. We practiced some new vocabulary words: vertical and horizontal. Our author for the month is Kevin Henkes. We read one of his books called Wemberly Worried. It taught us about things that are real and imaginary. Some of our specials were P.E. and Art. We even solved a mystery! It was about the book called My Father's Dragon. We have been doing other fun things like writing and going outside. Outside, we went to the track. In Social Studies, we learned that we live on a planet called Earth. It has more land than water. We have been busy!
