This week we did new things. We learned so much! Soon we will be in second grade. We only have 19 more days of first grade! Miranda got new glasses. We learned math with big numbers like 25. We learned to add and subtract them. We always start with the ones place. We did science about magnets. We learned that they look like magic, but they're not. The magnetic force looks like strings pulling things. Some are really strong. Magnets can pull things even if something is in between them. We can even move things through our desks! If you try to pull the south part with another south part, they push against each other. We can make scissors become magnets. We learned that Earth is a giant magnet! We learned about Earth Day, and some people made bugs to re-use materials. They also wrote stories about them. Soon we will have field day. Yay! Every day when we go outside, we jump the long jump rope. We are very good at it! Tomorrow is Camden's birthday. We had a very great week!
Today is Friday. We went to book buddies. Yesterday, we made -ice words with a plastic egg. In math, we played "I Have, Who Has" with place value. In social studies, we are learning about Teddy Roosevelt. When he was little, he didn't go to school. He had someone teach him at home. He loved to read and learn. He made a museum in his house just like his dad. He loved to draw pictures of animals and plants. We are making a nature museum, too. Teddy Roosevelt had ashtma, but they didn't have inhalers back then. He had trouble seeing, and he needed glasses. Jonae and Jordyn got glasses. They look pretty! Teddy Roosevelt loved animals. He started national parks. Alexandria brought three national park quarters for our collection. I can't wait for another fun week!
