This week was a great week! Today is Leah's birthday. We also celebrated Gavin's and Jordyn's birthdays. Some people got yearbooks. We will sign them on Monday. Next Wednesday is our last day of school. Counting today, we only have four more days of school. We have been writing cards for all of our friends. We had to do a math test and a language arts test this week. We also got our caterpillars. One of them is really small. One of them is also really big. They are going to turn into "Painted Lady" butterflies. Miles got a silver tooth! Ivey and Jackson have wiggly teeth. Alex, Aiden, and Jackson went to the magic show. The magician made a bunny come out of a plastic cup! Sarah Grace and Allie's sisters won the science fair. We are learning about magnets. We watched Bill Nye the Science Guy. We read some more books by Robert Munsch. They were Get Out of Bed, Aaron's Hair, Smelly Socks, and More Pies. In P.E. yesterday, we practiced tennis. A lot of people's terrariums were growing, and we took them home. In social studies we learned about good, services, wants, and needs. We also watched "Land Before Time".

We had an awesome week! We have eight more days of school. Today is the 172nd day of school. Our summer vacation is going to be really, really, good. Sara lost her molar. It is teacher appreciation week. Mrs. Baker got a lot of teacher appreciation stuff. Mrs. Baker, Ms. Henderson, and Mrs. Hamilton felt VERY appreciated! We filled up our phoneme wall this week! A lot of people's terrariums have sprouted now. Mrs. Baker is printing our terrarium books. Today we can't do P.E. because fifth graders are having field day. We are enjoying Robert Munsch books. We read Roar, Ribbon Rescue, Paper Bag Princess, Andrew's Loose Tooth, and I'm So Embarassed. Robert Munsch is a really silly guy. We watched some of his books on video. We did the Baton Relay on Tuesday. Our class came in fourth and fifth. We did great and had lots of fun! Today is the last day to take A.R. tests. Aiden has 40 points! We have started something new in Science. We are learning about magnets. We learned that coins are not attracted to magnets.
This was a super duper awesome week! Today is field day for first grade and Kindergarten. We start with centers, then we go to the field. We're having lunch in the classroom. Today we're writing three sentences about what you can do with ribbons because we read a book about ribbons. We have a new author that we're studying named Robert Munsch. He wrote a book called Ribbon Rescue. He also wrote Roar and Smelly Socks. That one was funny. Another day this week we looked at some writing samples by other kids. Some were really bad, and some were really good with "sparkle" and feelings. We wrote a story without our names on it so another teacher could read it. Jackson showed us a hummingbird nest! Our homework this week was to pick out a book and do a bag book report. We have heard three so far. Aiden's was Curious George, Ellie's was about Yoko, and Reagan D.'s was about Dog In Charge. Reagan D.'s was really funny. Alex took D.J. the litterbug home. Ellie is our new Cardinal Class Act. Mrs. Heffner is here today. We collected shoes to recycle this week. The company is using the rubber to make new playground equipment. The class with the most will have a popcorn party. We collected 52 shoes! We are searching for missing reading books. Four people have found them so far. Look for a picture of the missing books below. We have a reward if they are found! We learned about turning off the water when we brush our teeth. We had three friends who lost a tooth this week: Ashley, Sarah Grace, and Ivey! This week was a good week!
