We had a very fun week. We had a week off for Thanksgiving. Christmas is in 25 more days. It is almost December, so we will have a new author. It was Aerin's birthday on Wednesday. She shared ice cream with everyone. The book fair is starting. We got to watch the book fair movie with our book buddies. We did our math journals. We learned more about clocks. We made tens and ones with beads. We did our science journals, too. We made a cloud in the science lab. We made it rain. Mrs. Baker made it rain on our heads! We did a chart. The chart tells about the water in our science experiment. Our experiment is to see if water evaporates in the classroom. We are also finding out if water can evaporate through plastic. In language arts, we were learning about common and proper nouns. We played a game with them.

This was the best week ever. For Fun Friday, we are having a special snack and a Thanksgiving movie. We shared our dress-up turkeys and we each wrote a story about them. We also wrote a letter to the Butterball company pretending we were turkeys and saying why they shouldn't eat us. After we read Yoko's Paper Cranes, we made origami shapes. We used candy corn and and Oreo to make a turkey treat. During science we learned about the water cycle. We wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
This week was a good week. Today is Brandon's birthday! Monday was Ellie's birthday. This week we learned about -im and -id words. We wrote -it words to add to our phoneme wall. We have a new author. Her name is Rosemary Wells. Her books are about bunnies and other animals. We're learning about the water cycle. If we are good, we get stickers on our nametags. If we get enough, we get to do special things. We are still learning about time in math. We practiced moving the hands clockwise.
Welcome to stuffed animal day and Fun Friday! Today we're having stuffed animal day because we filled our marble jar. We get marbles for making good choices. Today is hat day. Reagan L. is the Cardinal Class Act for the month of November. We had Character Dress-Up Day on Wednesday. We watched Great Pumpkin. We're going on the playground today. We finished learning about Ben Franklin. We're learning about time. We can count by fives with time. The little hand is the hour hand, and the big hand is the minute hand. The red hand on our clock is the second hand. The hour hand goes around two times each day. It goes once for A.M. and once for P.M. Today we're going to start learning about the water cycle. We used our science workbooks. We had silent reading this week. We added -ack and -ill words to the phoneme wall. We also learned -it words. We read a lot of books like Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet.
It was a fun, short week. We watched a movie about bats in Georgia. We did this because we read Bats by Gail Gibbons. In math, we cut pizzas into different fractions so we could compare. We also talked about shapes and sizes. In writing, we are creating funny stories about bats or owls. We have two new specials: technology and math. In music special, we started practicing for our holiday musical. Mrs. McDowell gave us creatures to cut out and put in a bag. We can't wait to find out what we're going to do with them. In Social Studies we started learning about Ben Franklin. He fell asleep on the job because he was bored, so he invented something- magic squares. When he was eleven years old, he went in a lake and let a kite pull him. He also tied a key to a kite and found out that lightning is electricity. He also started libraries, hospitals, and fire stations, and he invented the Franklin Stove. One of his funny inventions was a chair with a fan on top to keep flies away. Today we had book buddies. This was a fun week!
