We had another great week! We have four people in the 100 Book Club. Their names are Lydia, Will, Grace, and Sydney E. Many more people have made it to 50 and even 75. In math, we learned to combine shapes to make new shapes. We made squares out of triangles. We learned about sides and corners, and we made shapes using toothpicks as sides and clay as corners. Today we worked on solving math problems by using objects. Mrs. Baker found a can of snakes in our math tool box! We practiced our handwriting this week. Many people thought that q, x, and k were hard to write. On Thursday, we wore our pajamas to school. It was fun! In language arts, we worked on writing our own diaries. We also compared fiction and non-fiction books. We took the CogAT this week. Most people thought it was easy and fun. Lydia's mom read us a book and brought us a treat for working hard on the test. Yummy! Today, our mystery reader was Will and Walker's grandma. She read us some great books! Some kids have been enjoying reading Brain Quest questions this week. What a week!
We loved our week! We filled our marble jar! We learned about weather. In math, we are studying shapes. Today we explored shapes and tried to solve the tangram square puzzle. It was hard! In the computer lab, we typed a cow story. We painted cows to illustrate our stories. We are going to make a book. We wrote -ag and -am words. We put all of our people on the 100 Book Club display. Lydia blasted off by reading 100 books! We had a super week!
