We had a good week. It was Sarah Grace's birthday. She lost a tooth, and so did Ashley. Ashley accidentally swallowed it in her sleep! It was also Ivey and Gigi's brothers' birthday, and Leah's sister's birthday. We planted new seeds for our terrariums. They were called Four O'Clocks. We read about those flowers in a Cynthia Rylant book. Some of our plants are growing. We are learning about habitats. We are writing animals that live in each one. We have been watching a video for each continent and taking notes on the animals. We still have four more to go. We are reading a Cynthia Rylant book about migration. We learned about locust, grey whale, caribou, eels, butterflies, and terns. We did poetry. It doesn't look like a paragraph. We have to put a lot of style in it. We are getting better at adding style. We can put some rhyming words in it. We can even make fake rhyming words. We are still working on our terrarium books. On Monday we shared our litter bugs. Jackson thought that Alex's bug was the coolest. Alie's litter bug came in a house. Skylar thought that some of the other bugs were jealous! Field day is coming soon. Third, fourth, and fifth grades have been taking the CRCT. This week has been weird, but next week will only be a little bit weird. Aiden and Jackson have more than 30 A.R. points! Have a happy weekend!

This week was a great week! This morning we did doubles and doubles plus one. We also read problems and solved them. Yesterday we had cards, and we went around to different cards to solve the problems. On Thursday we cheered for the Special Olympians, and Reagan L.'s sister was going with them to help. In science we are learning about nature. This week we made terrariums. Some people's plants are growing. We made terrarium books. We are making them in the computer lab. Ms. Baker made a template for us. We added clip art. On page three we said what a terrarium means. On page four we listed the materials. In word work we wrote a poem about what sunflowers need. We practiced our best handwriting. We had a sub for half of the day today because Ms. Baker was at a meeting. Her daughter, Allie, was on the announcements. In P.E., we made our Baton Relay teams. The boy's team has Jackson, Aiden, Skylar, Dawson, Alex, and Brandon. The girl's team has Ivey, Jordyn, Ellie, Leah, Ashley, and Alana. I hope we have another fantastic week next week.
We had a great week! In science, we are learning about living things and non-living things. We collected water bottles to plant seeds in. They are called terrariums. We are going to observe the plants. We are learning about a new author named Cynthia Rylant. She writes Henry and Mudge books. Cynthia Rylant writes Mr. Putter and Tabby books, too. In one of the books, he uses a slingshot to get the pears out of his tree. She also writes a series called Poppleton, and she writes books about when she was a little kid. In math, we practiced related facts. We also played math games. In math specials, we learned about tens frames. In writing, we are learning about paragraphs. In word work, we are learning –ight words. Today is a special day because it is hat day. We have a new friend in our class named Dawson. We are collecting coins from the national parks, and Ivey brought in our first one! It was for Yosemite. We had a fantastic week!
